2 to 3 hour Whale Shark Tour

Due to COVID related delays, SEMARNAT (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources) has not yet issued permits for the new season (fall 2020 - spring 2021). All tour operators are on stand-by and are expecting to receive our permits by mid-November, though no date has been confirmed yet. Whale sharks are the world’s largest fish! They can measure up to 40 feet (12 meters) in length. Every year, nearly 100 juvenile whale sharks migrate to the Bay of La Paz during winter months to seek food and shelter. Join us on our fun and educational tour from October to April! You can choose to observe the whale sharks from the boat, or you can jump into the water in groups of a maximum of 5 people at a time to swim alongside these gentle giants. Videos of your experience will be shared with you afterward, at no extra cost.
What is included:

Snorkel equipment is provided (fins, mask, tuba and life jacket)
Permits and bracelets for access to the whale shark area
You will be accompanied by a bilingual guide, certified in first aid
Professional staff. Our captains and guides all have their valid and updated whale shark certifications and work permits issued by SEMARNAT (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources)
What is not included:
Alcoholic drinks (not permitted)
Tips are at your discretion, but greatly appreciated
We recommend the use of biodegradable sunscreen to help with the preservation of coral reefs. You can purchase biodegradable lotion at our office for $200 MXN ($10 USD).
We recommend bringing a towel, a hat and sunglasses. We recommend you bring a jacket or sweater during winter months as well.
* This activity is only offered from October to April, in accordance with the rules and schedules established by SEMARNAT (Mexican Department of Wildlife)
** Wildlife abundance is unpredictable and, although sightings are not guaranteed, the odds are definitely in your favor. In the past three seasons (2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020), we had a success rate of 100% for whale shark sightings on our tours.
Our tour rates are in Mexican pesos. The price quoted in USD is an approximate, and may vary according to the exchange rate. All prices include taxes. There are no hidden costs. Your reservation will be confirmed once you have contacted us and completed the deposit.
